Versatile Solutions Anti-Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy

Policy Statement

1.    Policy Statement

This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, officers, agency workers, seconded workers, volunteers, agents, contractors, and suppliers. Versatile Solutions Ltd strictly prohibits the use of modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chain. We have and will continue to be committed to implementing systems and controls aimed at ensuring that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere within our organisation or in any of our supply chains. We expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards and commitments.

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Modern slavery is a term used to encompass slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, bonded and child labour and human trafficking. Human trafficking is where a person arranges or facilitates the travel of another person with a view to that person being exploited. Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights.

2.    Commitments to Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

We shall be a company that expects everyone working with us or on our behalf to support and uphold the following measures to safeguard against modern slavery:

2.1.    We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in our organisation and our supply chains.

2.2.    Zero-Tolerance Approach: We maintain a strict zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery within our organisation and our supply chains.

2.3.    Prevention, Detection, and Reporting Responsibility: Ensuring the prevention, detection, and reporting of modern slavery in any facet of our organisation or supply chain is the duty of all individuals associated with us. Any acts that may contravene this policy, either directly or indirectly, must be reported immediately.

2.4.    Stakeholder and Supplier Engagement: Our commitment extends to proactive engagement with stakeholders and suppliers to tackle risks of modern slavery in our operations and throughout our supply chain.

2.5.    Risk-Based Contracting: We adopt a risk-based methodology in our contracting processes, regularly reviewing them. Circumstances are assessed to determine if contracts with third parties should explicitly prohibit the use of modern slavery and trafficked labour. Based on this risk assessment, we might also approach suppliers, urging them to adhere to our Code of Conduct, which outlines the fundamental standards to counteract modern slavery and trafficking.

3.    Third-Party Compliance with Our Code of Conduct

3.1.    We may mandate employment and recruitment agencies, as well as other third parties supplying workers to our organisation, to validate their adherence to our Code of Conduct.

3.2.    We require suppliers that engage workers via a third party to secure that third party's commitment to our Code.

3.3.    Ongoing Risk Assessment and Due Diligence: As part of our continual risk assessment and due diligence procedures, we will evaluate if situations necessitate us conducting audits of suppliers to check their compliance with our Code of Conduct.

3.4.    Breach Response Strategy: In the event that individuals or entities acting on our behalf violate this policy, we pledge to take appropriate measures. Responses can range from exploring the possibility of remedying the breaches – considering the best interests of those affected – to potentially severing ties with the violating party.

3.5.    Adherence to Local and National Laws: We commit to complying with all local and national laws and regulations related to the prevention of slavery and human trafficking.

3.6.    Freedom to Terminate Employment: All workers have the right to terminate their employment in accordance with local and national laws, without repercussions or penalties.

3.7.    Freedom of Movement: Workers have the right to move without restrictions, either within or outside of our workplace premises.

3.8.    Freedom of Association: Workers have the liberty to freely associate, join labour unions, seek representation, and become part of workers' councils, all in line with local laws.

3.9.    Prohibition of Violence, Harassment, and Intimidation: Violence, harassment, intimidation, or threats of any form within the workplace are strictly prohibited.

3.10.    No Worker-Paid Recruitment Fees: Recruitment fees or any other fees related to employment are not to be borne by our workers.

3.11.    Prohibition of Compulsory Overtime: All overtime work must be voluntary, with workers reserving the right to decline without facing any repercussions.

3.12.    Prohibition of Child Labour: The use of child labour in our operations is strictly prohibited, adhering to the age provisions of applicable laws.

3.13.    Prohibition of Discrimination: Discrimination of any form is not tolerated in our workplace.

3.14.    No Confiscation of Original Identification Documents: Workers' original identification or any other personal legal documents will not be confiscated, withheld, or retained.
